This month we caught up with Gareth Barske, new General Manager of Florida Road’s Benjamin Hotel. Gareth takes us through his role at the hotel and why he thinks the hotel is perfectly situated, with all that Florida Road has to offer.
Q: How long have you been with the Benjamin Hotel and what is your role?
A: I started on 7 September 2020 and my role as the General Manager is to ensure my guests are happy, comfortable and attended to. I strive for efficient operations, good reviews and a good feeling of the hotel when people talk about it. I want the world to know about the Benjamin Hotel!
Q: How do you think the hotel enhances the Florida Road experience?
A: The hotel and Florida Road enhance each other. One can step out of a room at the Benjamin (or step out of our pool) and onto Florida Road, Durban’s dining and entertainment heartbeat.
From Florida Fields and Mitchell Park to the Florida Exchange, the road provides a world of experiences for a range of guests including families. Being walkable and safe means the high street becomes an extension of any guests experience at our hotel.
