With Guy Fawkes and Diwali coming up on Monday 5 November and Wednesday 7th of November respectively, city authorities have again warned residents to avoid the “big bang” fireworks that usually accompany these celebrations. We urge all community members to follow the policy put in place by the municipality and not let off fireworks in sensitive spaces. Low hazard fireworks can be lit at private homes, BUT display fireworks require special permission from the SAPS. Communities are urged to use fireworks responsibly and keeping animals in mind.
